Running since 1995, the Easter Classic Basketball Tournament is South Australia’s premier basketball tournament. They needed a brand re-fresh, new website and integrated CRM to retain existing and capture new participants.
Presented by the Norwood Basketball Club and Adelaide Community Basketball Association, we worked together to create a new brand and a fully customised, user-friendly WordPress website.
Our goal was to stay true to the history of the tournament, while creating an easy access communication hub.
Drawing inspiration from 1980s NBA mascots, the fondly named ‘Egg Man’ was developed for the Easter Classic logo to create a stronger identity for the annual tournament.
The Egg Man aims to generate a sense of energy and playfulness for participating players, and evokes a sense of nostalgia for the parents and organisers behind the event. ⠀
Keeping longevity in mind, the components of the logo are designed to be adapted and changed to keep the design fresh for years to come, while also upholding a consistent and recognisable brand.
It was extremely important that both new and prospective participants could access the Easter Classic website on all devices with full functionality, as majority of users accessed the site on a mobile device.
As part of the digital strategy, we produced an ‘Information Pack’ lead magnet document which proved highly effective as a tool to educate prospective participants about the tournament.
This allowed us to nurture users over a 12 month period, and saw a record number of registrations through a Facebook and email marketing strategy.
